On Thursday, November 12, I will stand in the lobby of @greenchairproject and read the closing stanzas of a book I wrote for them called Nestled All Snug in Their Beds. The title references not only the holiday season but also The Green Chair Project's promise that, through its Sweeter Dreams program, every child in a client family receives a safe, new bed or crib. So far in 2026, 1,300 children received one.

Heather Jennings painted every page of the book in gouache and ink. Elissa Coughlin is dressing the evening in Victorian winter, with magnolia and greenery from @westonfarms and @atlanticgardening, lanterns, carolers, and snow drifting at the door. There will be wassail, a tea table I am setting myself, and gingerbread men from @angusbarn.

Each ticketed household takes home a copy of the book and shops Green Chair’s Home for the Holidays sale before anyone else. Every purchase helps furnish a home for a family starting again. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in the Silent Auction with some very exciting items!
